Timecode is used where a camera wrote one; otherwise the sound is matched at several points and checked for agreement before an offset is believed, drift included. Every file is placed on its own track at the right moment and the group is remembered, which is what lets switch_angle change the shot. A file that does not match comes back named and unplaced. A long take answers that it is still listening; a later call returns the offsets.
